The Armour of God: From Fatigue to Fortitude

This series about the Armour of God is based on the Apostle Paul’s personal letter of encouragement and instruction he wrote to the church in Ephesus of Asia Minor.

The armour referred to was like the Roman Soldiers’ armour—the soldiers people saw everywhere around them.

Of the seven pieces of armour listed in Ephesians 6:10-18, the last piece we’re examining is the Shoes of Peace

…and have your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the Gospel of Peace. (Ephesians 6:15)

Of all the pieces of armour we may think about—the shoes are the least glorious!

Nevertheless, a Roman Soldier’s footwear was indispensable and brought both Stability and Mobility. Stability to plant his feet to engage and withstand the attacks during battle; and the mobility needed to move forward to take ground and conquer.

Obviously, Paul’s instructions about armour are metaphors for the Christian’s need to be prepared in order to experience Christ’s life despite the deadly, hostile spiritual forces surrounding them. The Peace of Christ is basic, foundational, and critical!

Philippians 4:7   And the Peace of God, which exceeds all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Enjoying the supernatural experience of a heart and mind at peace because of the Gospel of Peace—will prompt us to be ready to share what we have with those around us!

Needing peace? Don’t wait any longer—come and receive all Jesus made available for you!

See you this weekend!
